Tua Tagovailoa breaks silence on Dolphins’ interest in Brady: ‘They picked me I’m still here’

Tagovailoa says that the Dolphins have no interest in signing Brady.

Tagovailoa said, “I mean, they picked me.” “It’s 2022. I haven’t left yet.”

However, what Tagovailoa doesn’t realize is that the NFL found last year that the Dolphins had “impermissible communications” with Brady before, during, and after the 2020 season. The quarterback for the team was Tagovailoa. Straight from the National Football League: “During and after the 2021 season, while Mr. Brady was still under contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Dolphins again engaged in improper communications with him and his agent. Discussions about Mr. Brady becoming a limited partner in the Dolphins and possibly serving as a football executive began no later than the beginning of December 2021, and they occasionally included the possibility of his playing for the Dolphins. Mr. Ross and Mr. Beal contributed substantially to these talks.”

The Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held joint practices this week in advance of Saturday’s preseason opener, which is a bit of a twist on the usual format. Tagovailoa was able to meet the quarterback the Dolphins wanted for a while now, including this offseason.

“For a while, we chatted casually off to the side. Simply inquiring about the offseason, “Says Tagovailoa. “In any case, 23 years of playing is a considerable amount of time. Wow, he knows a lot; I quizzed him on various topics, and he shed some light on them for me. Just between you and me, Tom. Then you can all go to Tom and ask him whatever you like.”

Tagovailoa has been dismissive of the fascination with Brady, and head coach Mike McDaniel seems to think it’s old news.

“There were no events. It’s everyone else who’s being uncomfortable, “- McDaniel. “As the Miami Dolphins, we have a very coordinated approach to spending our time and effort, and it all goes toward helping us improve.
