For his own mental health, Tom Holland has decided to take a break from social media, but not before sending a message to his 67.7 million Instagram followers.

The star of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” went on Instagram on August 13 to explain his hiatus from all forms of social media. Holland said in the video that it had affected his mental health negatively to see articles written about him online. “I’m taking a break from social media for the sake of my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming,” Holland said. After realizing that reading negative comments about myself online sent me into a downward spiral and was having a negative impact on my mental health, I deleted the relevant app.

Holland elaborated, saying, “If you’re in pain and need assistance, try out one of the apps Stem4 has to offer. I own them all, I’ve used them all, and they’re wonderful. As a whole, they’re a great resource. In closing, I appreciate your attention. Again, you won’t find me on Instagram. I’d also like to express my gratitude to everyone who has shown me support and affection. I hope to hear from you all soon.

Hundreds of Tom Holland’s fans have flooded his comments section since he posted the video, with some of the most notable being Justin Bieber, who simply wrote, “Love you man.”
