The Cloudveil, Autograph Collection, opened in Jackson Hole in May 2021 and has since grown to be not just one of the city’s most adored hotels but also a vital element of the neighborhood. It therefore comes as no surprise that the newcomer, who had previously been honored on Travel + Leisure’s 2022 editor-curated It List of finest new hotels, so rapidly claimed the top spot in the first best Wyoming resort category of the World’s Best Awards.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be awarded with such a distinguished award,” said Bruce Grosbety, the property’s regional vice president and general manager, to T+L. “Coming off our one-year anniversary since opening last spring.” “Our staff is incredibly grateful to our wonderful visitors and the readers of Travel + Leisure for this fantastic accolade.”

The 100-room hotel is located on George Washington Memorial Park, also known as the city’s Town Square. It is surrounded by art galleries, restaurants, and shops and is close to many of the city’s most popular attractions, including the twangy Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, neighborhood favorite The Bunnery, Pinky G’s Pizzeria, and the Persephone Bakery with its French influence. The hotel’s proximity to two of the country’s most popular national parks—Grand Teton, which is only five miles away, and Yellowstone, which is around 60 miles away—is what makes it so appealing, though, as you pan further back.

With its Pathfinders, a group of outdoor-savvy concierges who help direct guests toward the region’s top hiking, biking, and whitewater rafting trips, as well as wildlife-spotting excursions with businesses like EcoTour Adventures, The Cloudveil leans into its ideal position. Convenience is another priority; during the ski and snowboard seasons, visitors can schedule equipment fits at the hotel and have their gear delivered directly to the ski resorts nearby.

The hotel excels in bringing the outdoorsy charm of the area indoors, capturing both its Western tradition and its mountainous setting. “Jackson Hole is the transformative destination we all know and love,” Grosbety continued, “and everything from the warm rustic design inspired by organic elements of its locale to the local artwork and animated wildlife photography encapsulates all that makes Jackson Hole the transformative destination we all know and love.” Each of the rooms, which range from king rooms with fireplaces to two-room suites with huge balconies and soaking tubs, are furnished with bespoke wood, leather furniture, and regional art with mountain themes.

The dog-friendly establishment has a fitness center, pool, hot tub, and rooftop terrace with picturesque views of the sun setting. It also offers yoga, meditation, stargazing, and live music.

The prized rooftop area has just begun selling street food and having a full bar called The Rooftop Bar at The Cloudveil, which is open to the public on specific occasions from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Couches and fire pits provide a cozy location to unwind after a day of exploration during the warmer months.

Finally, a real property feature is the on-site restaurant, The Bistro, a brasserie with Parisian influences from the Gavin Fine & Fine Dining Restaurant Group. While many people prefer the raw bar, Grosbety prefers the daily specials, particularly the short ribs on Monday, the seared scallops on Friday, and the coq a vin on Sunday.
