On Thursday morning, Ford announced a brand-new Bronco trim called the Heritage Edition online. It receives a flurry of hip retro-inspired visual changes and a bevy of paint color options, all of which pay homage to the first Bronco from 1966.
The Bronco Heritage Edition, which comes in two- and four-door body designs, has a two-tone paint job that mixes Oxford white with the buyer’s option of five colors to cover things like the roof, grille, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. There is red “FORD” lettering on the grille, and inside, there are plaid-patterned seats, a navy-colored dash, and further white embellishments.
The Big Bend trim of the SUV—which comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four producing 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque—will serve as the foundation for the Heritage Edition Broncos. Customers have the option of a 10-speed automatic or a seven-speed manual transmission. Additionally standard equipment will be the Sasquatch package, which includes expanded fenders, a locking differential, a Bilstein long-travel suspension, and 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires.
Ford will also provide a Bronco Heritage Limited Edition trim level. It honors the year the Bronco was first produced by being limited to just 1966 units. It receives a distinctive Robin’s Egg blue paint job in addition to a Badlands trim upgrade that adds a larger 330-hp 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 and a few interior improvements.
There will also be an opportunity for those who prefer the Bronco Sport crossover to take part in this homage. The small Bronco will have a Heritage Edition in 2023 with many of the same aesthetic improvements. If you really desire that vivid blue paint, there is also a Limited Edition version available.
The Bronco Heritage Edition order booklets are currently available. The Sport starts at $34,245; if you want the Limited Edition variant, it costs $44,655. You will need to spend at least $44,305 if you want to upgrade to the appropriate Bronco. Would you like to own one of the 1966 Limited Edition Bronco Heritage vehicles? You’ll pay $66, 895 for that.
