Even though it hasn’t even been two months since the Warriors beat the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals to win their fourth title in the past eight seasons, it’s already time for basketball fans to start getting ready for a new season.

It was expected that the 2022-2023 NBA schedule would be announced sometime in early to mid-August, now that the league is back on a normal calendar after several COVID-impacted seasons and the Olympics last year. However, the league has been tight-lipped about its future plans.

Based on recent reports and rumors, here is what we know about the release of the 2022-2023 schedule.

When will the NBA release the schedule for the 2022–23 season?

According to a report by Marc Stein, the NBA will not unveil the complete schedule for 2022-2023 until the week of August 14-20. Spotrac’s Keith Smith speculated that the league delayed the release date in case a star player was traded.

In the course of the summer, rumors have circulated linking Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Donovan Mitchell to a wide variety of potential new teams. Since the NBA will be sending out their stars and starting rebuilds, they should probably avoid scheduling the Nets and the Jazz in a bunch of primetime games.

When will the 2021-22 season schedule be available?

On August 20, 2021, the NBA officially released the schedule for the 2021-22 season, though it had previously shared some details. The schedule for the first week of the season and Christmas Day was released by the league on August 17, 2021.
