Disney and Marvel Games Showcase their release dates

Disney and Marvel will team up to announce the first ever Disney and Marvel Games Showcase at the 2022 D23 Expo in September.

Midnight Suns will be among the many upcoming games featured in the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase at D23 Expo.

In anticipation of next month’s D23 Expo, Disney and Marvel have announced a special showcase. New and updated games from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Fox will be featured in the appropriately named Disney and Marvel Games Showcase.

Games have been announced at D23 before, but this will be the first time that a showcase has been dedicated solely to the industry. That it even exists indicates a sea change in Disney’s stance on video games.

The company stopped making games in-house in 2016, opting instead to license its IP to external developers. The company’s properties have been featured in a slew of games that have been announced at recent Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft presentations. This could mean that Disney wants to do more production in-house.

Time and Date for Disney and Marvel Game Presentations

On September 9, 2022, at 3:00 PM PDT (6:00 PM EDT), Disney and Marvel will present their video game showcase. As for distribution, here are the platforms that will carry it:

Official D23 Expo Channels on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook @Disney23

Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and YouTube channels officially associated with Disney

Those of Marvel Entertainment on social media platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch

Showcase attendees at D23 Expo 2022 will be able to see it unfold live on the Premiere Stage.

The duration of the livestream has not been announced, but previous events of this type have typically lasted between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Following the showcase, there will be a presentation with interviews, special guests, and freebies for all in attendance.

In Which Games Will Disney and Marvel Be Featured?

The official Disney and Marvel showcase announcement reads as follows: “All-new, jaw-dropping content from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games will be on display in the digital showcase. In addition to brand new details, fans can look forward to new reveals from games like Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and a preview of Skydance New Media’s forthcoming Marvel ensemble game.”

Uncharted’s Amy Hennig is leading Skydance New Media’s secret project, and the prospect of working with her is exciting. But it’s the “all-new announcements” that have set our imaginations racing.

In particular, we’re looking forward to playing one of the many Star Wars video games currently in production. A full reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, or at least the open-world game from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, could be on the horizon.
